5-Day Luxury Safari to Nyerere NP from Zanzibar

Today's Experience

Your safari begins early in the morning with a scheduled flight of 06AM (takes 30 to 1 hour) from Zanzibar to Nyerere National Park. Upon arrival at the airstrip, you will be welcomed by your professional safari guide and immediately begin your first game drive. As you travel through the park, you will already be immersed in the wilderness, with opportunities to encounter elephants, giraffes, and large herds of buffalo moving across the savannah. This en-route game drive offers an exciting introduction to the park’s rich ecosystem. In the afternoon, you will enjoy lunch and time to rest, then continue with a short game drive in the surrounding area before driving to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Today's Experience

After an early breakfast, you will set out for a full-day game drive exploring remote and less-visited areas of the park. These regions offer excellent chances of spotting predators such as lions and leopards, as well as the rare African wild dogs. During the day, you will visit natural hot springs hidden within the wilderness, a unique feature that adds a special highlight to your safari. A picnic lunch will be served in a scenic location, allowing you to enjoy the untouched surroundings. In the afternoon, your exploration continues along river channels and open plains before returning to the lodge in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Today's Experience

After breakfast, you will depart for a morning game drive as you gradually make your way toward another region of the park. This journey allows you to explore new landscapes and encounter different wildlife habitats. You will arrive at Impala Tented Camp around midday, where you will check in and enjoy lunch overlooking the Rufiji River. The camp offers a more intimate and authentic safari experience, bringing you closer to nature. Later in the afternoon, you will head out for a boat safari along the Rufiji River and lakes. This unique activity provides a different perspective of the park, allowing you to observe hippos, crocodiles, and a wide variety of birdlife, as well as animals gathering along the riverbanks. The experience is particularly beautiful during sunset. You return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Today's Experience

This day is dedicated to a full exploration of Nyerere National Park from your base at Impala Camp. After breakfast, you will set out on a full-day game drive, venturing deeper into the wilderness. The park’s diverse landscapes, ranging from open plains to riverine forests, support a wide variety of wildlife. You may encounter elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and numerous antelope species, while predators such as lions and leopards can often be seen resting or hunting. Nyerere is also one of the best places in Tanzania to spot African wild dogs. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed in the bush before continuing your afternoon exploration. You will return to camp in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

On your final day, you will enjoy an early breakfast before transferring to the airstrip for your scheduled morning flight back to Zanzibar. As you depart, you may catch a final glimpse of wildlife below, bringing your safari to a memorable close.
