Nyerere National Park

Nyerere National Park is a national park located in the southern part of Tanzania. It was established in 2019 and covers an area of 30,893 square kilometers, making it one of the largest national parks in Africa. The park was named in honor of Julius Nyerere, the first president of Tanzania and a prominent African nationalist.

Nyerere National Park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, and many species of birds. The park is also home to the Rufiji River, which is one of the largest rivers in Tanzania and provides water for much of the wildlife in the area.

Visitors to Nyerere National Park can enjoy a range of activities, including game drives, boat safaris, walking safaris, and bird watching. The park is still relatively new and undeveloped, which means that visitors can experience a more authentic African safari experience without the crowds and commercialization of some of the more popular parks in Tanzania.
